Collection: Wingback Beds
A wingback bed has side panels, or wings, that wrap forward from each edge of the headboard. They frame the bed, stop pillows sliding off the sides, and make it more comfortable to sit up and read.
This range covers plain and curved wings, vertical line panels, Chesterfield buttoning and fluted velvet, in every size from single to super king. Several designs are also made as divan or ottoman storage beds.
Measure the width of the room as well as the length before you order. The wings add width beyond the mattress, and in a tight room that can crowd bedside tables. The size table on each product gives the full frame width, and our UK bed sizes guide covers the mattress sizes.
Questions people ask
Is a wing bed the same as a wingback bed?
Yes. Wing bed, winged bed and wingback bed all describe a headboard with side panels that wrap forward. Our wingback beds guide goes into the styles.
Do the wings make the bed wider?
A little, yes. Check the frame width in the size table on each product as well as the mattress size, especially if bedside tables need to fit either side.
Can I get a wingback bed with storage?
Yes. Several designs here are wingback divans with drawers, such as the Vertical Fluted Wingback Divan and the Horizontal Panel Wingback with Drawers.
Are wingback beds comfortable to sit up in?
That's the main reason people choose them. The wings stop pillows sliding off the sides and shelter your head and shoulders when you read.
