Does mattress weight matter on an ottoman bed?
Yes. The gas struts are chosen to lift a typical mattress plus the platform. A standard pocket sprung or foam mattress is fine. If yours is unusually deep or heavy, the lid will rise more slowly and need more of a push. Tell us before ordering and we can advise.
How many pocket springs do you need?
1000 springs suits guest rooms, children and lighter adults. 2000 is the sensible default for two adults, because more, smaller springs follow your shape more closely and pass less movement across the bed. 3000 suits heavier builds or anyone wanting firm support. Each spring sits in its own pocket, so a partner turning over doesn't roll you with them.
