A UK king size bed is 150 x 200 cm, or 5ft x 6ft6 (60 x 78 inches). A UK super king is 180 x 200 cm, or 6ft x 6ft6 (72 x 78 inches). They're the same length. The super king is 30 cm wider, enough to give each sleeper the width of a single mattress.

Is a UK king the same as a US king?
No. A UK king (150 x 200 cm) is close to a US queen. A US king (about 193 x 203 cm) is wider than a UK super king. If you're buying bedding from a US brand, go by the centimetres, not the name.
Which should you choose, king or super king?
Choose the super king if a child or dog often ends up in the bed, or if one of you is a restless sleeper. Choose the king if the room is under about 3.1 m wide, if you want bedside tables on both sides in a modest room, or if the stairs are tight.

Will a super king fit up my stairs?
Measure the tightest turn on the stairs and the landing. The headboard is normally the awkward piece because it's the widest part. Our divan bases are built in two halves that bolt together in the room, so the base itself is rarely the problem. If you're unsure, send us your measurements before ordering.
What size bedding does each need?
A UK king duvet is usually 225 x 220 cm and a super king duvet 260 x 220 cm. Fitted sheets match the mattress: 150 x 200 cm or 180 x 200 cm. A king duvet on a super king looks short at the sides, so buy to size.
